Get Ready for Another Mind-Blowing Journey with Two Tales From The Mind! After a first volume featuring Janko Nilovic & The Soul Surfers, Broc Recordz is back with a new banger. This time, we've got none other than the legendary JJ Whitefield (known for The Poets of Rhythm, Karl Hector, Embryo, W.I.T.C.H...) and the incomparable Igor Zhukovsky from The Soul Surfers. Our concept remains unchanged – two sides, two unique vibes: Side A: Groove to the funky beats of "One Hand Clap" – it's pure funkadelic ecstasy! Side B: Take a trippy ride with this psychedelic tune, "Munich Bells" – it's a sonic journey like no other. Two Tales for the mind, is meticulously crafted to blow your mind. Get ready to immerse yourself in the experience. Enjoy the ride!
Following the recent acclaimed release of his “Space” LP, on which Bruno “Patchworks” Hovart transformed himself into Patchworks Galactic Project for a fantastic musical trip, Favorite Recordings proudly presents this new 2 tracks remix EP.On the A side, rising UK producer NY*AK provides a blowing version of “Surrounded by the Gobblins”. What do the letters stand for? Why the asterisk?” you ask. The origin of the asterisk has something to do with donating dates of birth on family trees, from back in the medieval times. In music, an asterisk denotes when a sustain pedal should be lifted. NY – New York? AK – Alaska? Is it something to do with the three stooges? Nyak nyak nyak… It leaves the mind thirsty for answers... In reality Andrew Scott, the man behind NY*AK; banged his computer keyboard in frustration one day – and out came NY*AK. If that’s taken the shine off it a little, we’re not worried. Listen to any of Andrews tracks and we guarantee you’ll be drawn straight back in, but this time – deeper. For the B Side, underground House producer Kool Vibe also delivers a brilliant rendition of “Gobblins Are Gone”. Producer & owner of KV Records (Paris), record collector since 1993, and definitely part of the new Deep House music scene that is emerging from France at the moment, Laurent, aka Kool Vibe, was born in Paris in 1970. Kool Vibe's music reflects the best of the 90s House Music sound that he manages to love so much. In 2011 and 2012, his first releases have been cult tracks out on “My Love Is Underground” and “Traxx Underground” imprints.“Must congratulate you. I can't remember the last time I sat and listened to an album from first note to last…” – (Patrick Adams about “Space” LP)
Ecstatic brass, 70’s keyboards, elastic guitars, round bass and world percussion: from this sonic heritage, Ireke makes a unique fusion, enhanced by the audacious contribution of his dub science, and a few electronic touches.
Afro-Soul Holy Grail by the “Soul Brother from Benin“, featuring the famous “Vis à Vis” band from Ghana and recorded in Kumasi in 1979.Stanislas Tohon aka Papy Grande was born in the “Country of the kings” (Benin), in Abomey 1955. He’s “Chevalier de la legion d’honneur” in Benin for his brilliant musical career. The famous soul singer from Cotonou started his musical career at this age of 9, played with the greatest such as Gnonnas Pedro and recorded almost 35 albums. Influenced by the traditional “Tchingoume“ music , he invented his own rhythm called “Tchink Système”, a mix of soul and Beninese traditional rhythm . Dans le Tchink Système is an original 4 tracks album recorded in Ghana on 24 analog tracks channel with the incredible “Vis à Vis Band”, completed with the song “Africa“, a rare version of his first 7inch which he recorded a year before with “Les Satelites” from Cotonou. Sang in Fon, his native language from Benin, this album is a soulful call for peace and unity in Africa, a real definition of Afro Soul music! This extremely rare and obscure record is now remastered and strictly limited to 1000 copies.Enjoy!
MÚSICA PARA BOLICHE takes us to Argentina. Along the journey, we will discover that Maradona is not the only thing we have in common with our cousins across the ocean.Let’s dive into the 1980s Buenos Aires scene, a time straddling dictatorship and disco music, in search of dusty gems forgot-ten even in their homeland. The EP contains four tracks spanning Italo, electro, and proto-house, carefully selected by Jack Bulgaro, restored, and edited by DJs from Italy and Argentina.
Newborn french label RAOI Records is proud to release for the first time a remastered and fully licensed compilation of the two sought after records of Joe Sembene: Heart of Africa & Weur Di Dane/Le P’tit Quinquin. Side A is "Heart of Africa" with the songs "Gorelle" & "Autrefois", two timeless and unparalleled afro/electronic tracks. The first song on Side B is "Weur Di Dane", a perfect blend of afro and boogie vibes. The voice of Joe's wife, Josy Sene, stands out all along the track, a pure bliss! This is followed by a cover of a traditional song from the north of France called "Le P'tit Quinquin", but Joe gives it a strong reggae twist in the vain of Serge Gainsbourg’s "Aux Armes Et Cætera"! However, it had little success at the time... After recording these two remarkable and hard-to-find 7 inches at September Records in Lille (Fr), Joe suddenly disappeared… Who knows where Joe Sembene is right now?
