His mum probably chose to feed him with Kurtis Blow and Afrika Bambatta’s wax instead of motherly milk, but that’s OK now, he knows how to feed himself on his own…. His Flow is definitely influenced by old school masters (Grandmaster Flash, Kurtis Blow), but the Real fake MC declares that his major influence remain in P-Funk & Gogo Funk.For more than 15 years he's been grabbing mics and spreading funky vibes on stage & in collabs all around the world. For his first solo album Clyde Kingrap aka The Real Fake MC drops us 11 of his funk tracks produced by French producer Patchworks aka Mr President. These two musicians have been dropping some tracks together for more than a decade, with always the same target: educate their love for Hip-Hop with jokin lyrics & Funk inspired beats played live with instruments.In this LP you will find tracks from his first street-tape with Patchworks, tracks from his two 12" out on Favorite Recordings, “Live & Survive” & “Hunt Ya Sunshine”, and some new exclusive joints never released before.

The inspirational intake and respectful tribute of and to Hindi Cinema Soundtrack artists Kalyanji-Anandji and R. D. Burman and the Simla Beat guitar organ psych records of the early/mid 70’s, coupled with the Italian silver-stringed heavy-funked composers Piero Umiliani and Stefano Torossi kaleidoscopically conjure the sounds brought to you by Pleasurewood in this 7” single.Firework is ushered in by a Hofner Beatle bass’s nasal clacking joyfully assisted by clapping hands through murky spring reverb.A breakbeat incantation to the sun scored with Farfisa, Guitar Wah and Arp Odyssey.Move! is a more pensive post-apocalyptic funk hymn with the instrumentation of piano, cimbalom and mellotron, plus the layered and flanged vocals of the composers Paul Elliott and Anthony Donje, with the instruction to ‘Move!’ by studio kingpin Buddy Elliott.

Think Konono no.1 meets Shangaan Electro, Songhoy Blues and Débruit….Having played their first show to 5000 people in Australia to commemorate Nelson Mandela’s 100th birthday, and tearing the roof off The Great Escape in Brighton for their second, the project is picking up momentum rapidly, with a single launch booked at exciting new London venue Ghost Notes, followed up by an EP tour in August/September with shows across Europe including the main dance stage at Shambala Festival and London’s iconic Jazz Café.This release is first time collaboration between London label Wormfood and Paris-based Mawimbi, who have both been pushing their own brand of homegrown afro-electronic music, so it’s an absolutely natural partnership.

The subtle blend of African music and jazz laid the foundations for a new sound driven by an unconventional ensemble of instruments.Their new album, Traverse, is the soundtrack to the imaginary travel diary of three intrepid musicians forced to put a hold on their adventures.
