Ahead of its forthcoming compilation House Of Riviera, Mona Musique releases a sampler EP that contains three tracks selected by label manager Nick V, taken from the golden age of Italian House Music, two of which are exclusive to the EP.

Side A is “I Have Got It” by Ricky Montanari and Davide Ruberto under the alias Riviera Traxx, a moniker shared with various other Riviera producers. Released in 1997, this is the only track that is out of the 1991/1993 time scale that the compilation focuses on, standing alone thanks to its tough hypnotic drum beat and diva vocal stabs that are very reminiscent of the Junior Vasquez NY Sound Factory era. This was initially featured on Riviera Traxx 4 in 1997, the fourth and final release of the cult “Riviera Traxx” series on legendary Italian label Irma records.

On the B side are two cuts that are typical of the deep and emotional vibe of classic Riviera House productions of the early 90s. Firstly Ivan Iacobucci, Fabrizio Cini and Nicola Dragani deliver “Tribal Love” under the name of Anxious. Originally released in 1992 this was the B side cut of the Saxample EP, the first release of Hole records a label run by Ivan Iacobucci that enjoyed over 30 releases over the 10 following years. Subway Ground Master complete the release with the superb “Queensway” taken from their only ever release in 1992 on Calypso, a sub-label of Irma records

In Togo, Gazo doesn’t need any special occasion to resonate with people. Like an everyday life soundtrack, it is present when everything is fine but also when sadness sets in. In France, electronic music is also a popular remedy at any time, but it is often far away when we look at the money we spent the night before with watery eyes. Ago Gazo set the scene for a hybrid genre in which the notions of trance and liberation are palpable. Percussion, instruments and traditional chants from Togo, analogical machines and modular synths share a common destiny in this project : bruising emotions like a boxer’s ears.
**** DIZONORD DEADSTOCK ****This mid 2010's branch of Dizonord co-founder DDD aka The Hustler's label was meant to provide a home for local (both La Source & DDD Records Paris shops) dancefloor artists' first releases on wax. It was also a way to challenge those young artists with veterans such as DJ Nature and Teknotika.
After his first album Fragments Séquencés previously released on Cracki Records, Renart presents a new opus of four tracks: Wyvern Chill Music. Encouraged by his meeting with Rama Ramrachathirat during a seminar in the suburbs of Bangkok, Renart decides to turn away from the occult arts for a time. He then experiences the energies of Harmony and their emancipatory waves. With this narrative spirit which makes its specificity, Renart signs here a new atypical record, strong and uninhibited, which reminds us that it is possible to dance while dreaming.
The Balek Band and Abstrack Records's first album, Médecines, is the product of a magma of influences, the emanation of large decade of music infused lives. The emotional tessitura is wide: the dark meadows of “The Balek Bad” reach us through like a mantra from the end of a dark tunnel, while just three track earlier it was a caribbean Zouk euphoria which ruled the world. Inbetween, it’s a wide spectrum of hybrid epiphanies : "Hagen & Again" is a progressive Dub jewel, even Krauty to an extent, where the instruments play the lead role. "Cosmic Barry" is across the Channel : thick and broken club music, sweating with subs, yet always disputing it to the Funk accent of the the keys and the slap bass. This list of geographical and stylistic hybridations simplys goes on, and it’s the 54 minutes of the album that put an end to it. But beyond the never-ending list, this first album is alive: its gets us breathing the therapeutical air which fills the world of its creators.
La Maison Venturi and Goldmann Sax teamed up to produce this French Modern Boogie & Ambient album by Boulevard Mélodie.Recorded under the ligurian moon, facing the Mediterranean sea, during the summer of 2016, with musicians and non-musicians, humans and animals, this album relates the friendly, odd and contemplative time they shared together: Odes to a wavy happiness, contemporary art incantations to the sea, rapped stories of loveless holidays and Gainsbourg like stories of truck accident. Also included, a balearic edit of “Basket Molle” by the upcoming edit wizard Unouzbeck.
