Alone at the piano, Lucien takes us the time of a very personal first album in a deep and quiet reverie. We spend a warm winter morning in his company remembering tender memories of childhood.

Between unreleased tracks and pieces from the Kimono Orchestra revisited, Piano Matinée concludes a barely-past record trilogy, while opening the way to a vaster future. Universal, sensitive, cinematographic, the piano language spoken here by Lucien opens us to his musical world in a light that is both more authentic and accessible.

The album also tells us a personal story. That of a grandfather - an exceptional pianist but forced to give up making a career out of it when the Second World War broke out - who gave him a taste for music in his early childhood, before passing away.

Many years later, Lucien falls back on old cassette recordings of his elder, shortly after has a disturbing dream where he swears to have dialogued with him and decides to pursue the path in his own way. Self-taught, he refined his interpretation on the piano for a whole year before deciding to freeze it in the summer of 2019 on the legendary Steinway at Studios Saint-Germain.

Drawing freely from all his influences - jazz, funk, classical, cinema - Lucien delivers with Piano Matinée a separate object, as intimate as it is melodious.

Following the recent success of French Disco Boogie Sounds, DJ and producer Charles Maurice is back on Favorite Recordings, this time engaging a musical World tour, in the search of hidden productions with a touch of AOR style. The result is AOR Global Sounds, a new compilation made of 8 forgotten and rare tracks produced between 1977 and 1982 in all parts of the globe. At the end of the 70s, many artists over the world were deeply influenced by AOR’s famous stars such as Steely Dan and his classic Aja LP, looking to reach the same attention to sound production and details, and this specific Westcoast style mixing together Pop-Rock standards, with Soul (sometime Disco) and Jazz influences. From Erik Tagg in Netherlands, and Ulla in Poland, to Diane Tell in Quebec, and Nohelani Cypriano in Hawaï, Charles Maurice found a real link between these 8 great songs and artists, in their music clearly infused with this special AOR touch, in a Soulful and Disco way. This perfect soundtrack for the summer has been fully remastered from original versions, and is presented by Favorite Recordings in a deluxe vinyl version, housed in a tip-on jacket. A must have for rare-groove music collectors and many more…
Favorite Recordings proudly presents Time to Decide, The first album by Al SunnyAl Sunny is a young composer emerging from the French soul music scene. Soon after learning the guitar, he started composing and became involved in numerous projects and collaborations. Al has been influenced by pop, rock, and electronic music, always with a foundation in the “Black” and “Soul” sound.During his conservatory studies, he refined his knowledge and confirmed his desire to write and compose. The will to establish himself on a solo project became stronger and stronger. He quickly discovered deep inside himself the music that he truly loves, inspired by artists such as Tim Maia, America, Al Green, and Al Jarreau. Thru his guitar, he gives birth to the majority of his compositions and always seeks to bring the melody of his songs to the forefront. During his studies he met musicians including Florian Pellissier, then professor at the conservatory and a confirmed pianist who worked on various projects such as Guts, Anthony Joseph, Florian Pellissier Quintet, and Shola Adissa. It's then thanks to Florian that Al Sunny meets Pascal Rioux, founder and A&R of Favorite Recordings. Immediately seduced and impressed by his talent and the various demos that he listened to, Pascal invites the young musician to collaborate and produce an album within Favorite Recordings. Together they agree on a musical direction looking towards the West coast movement of the 70s and 80s. This direction includes influences like Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, and Ned Doheny, of whom Al Sunny covers the classic “Get It Up For Love” on the new album. With Time To Decide, Al Sunny shows us the premise of his music style, infused with Blue-Eyed-Soul, Pop and Folk. Written and composed by himself, it’s in close collaboration with Florian Pellissier that his songs came to life. Under the guidance of Pascal Rioux and Favorite Recordings, the production of this album ensures a sound and a final result worthy of the best classics of the genre.

Folowing their 2015 release of That's All Right, an introduction to Arthur-Big Boy-Crudup, EALZ! Records is presenting the female side of the early Rock'n'Roll genesis. Sister Rosetta Tharpe was responsable for a tremondous amount of gospel & blues rockin' tunes beetween the 40's and the 60's.Her soul-infused singing, the fervor she preach & the way she played guitar influenced directly the path of Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley and many others. She was the favorite singer of Johnny Cash and Aretha Franklin and 15 years before Angus Young and Frank Zappa, she already played the emblematic Gibson model SG. The 12 tracks compiled on this brand new volume, include some never vinyl re-released material. This gatefold 10inch, handprint cover and beautifully remastered is about to give Sister Rosetta Tharpe, one of the first female rockstar of history, the consideration she deserve... and not only from above.
