Based in Strasbourg, Leopard Davinci is a multi-instrumentist and founder of Funk band, The Fat Badgers.

Here comes his first solo release: 2 solid electro-funk/boogie tracks filled with twisted keyboard solos influenced by his P-funk heroes.

Steven J (a.k.a. Steven Wobblejay / Creative Swing Alliance) joined forces and remixed the 2 tracks in his own style somewhere between house & nu disco with heavy funky basslines & deep chords for optimal resonance on the dancefloor.

Joe Lewandowski is another treasure discovered by the rising label Deep & Roll. The A side reminds us some 90’s house diamonds: “Where is” contains mesmerizing gospel vocals calling for love. “Powa” has a more groovy vibe with patterns that bring us back to Chicago. The B side opens with “I Need To”, a track recorded with Jazz singer Lili B. It shows a more melancholic and deep side of the Parisian DJ. The last track “Lourd” explores the other influences of Joe Lewandowski with an Italo-Disco and leftfield techno feeling.Pirates gonna play it loud!
All Nations Records come again with a proper 7inch full of roots flavour. The man at the control of the label, Simon Nyabinghi, here calls out the talent of Belgium producer Unlisted Fanatic who deliver once again a heavy riddim track, topped up by some deep horns arrangement from the Moonshine Horns. The riddim is sufficient by itself so when you hear the deep melodical voice of MariJah on it with her uplifting lyrics hailing for more consciousness in this world, it ends up with a wonderful tune that surely will convince every great selector to put it on their deck now and for years to come. Once again, just flip the records over to get the full dub treatment. This is roots dub music at its best.
Eight years deep into their existence, Paris-based Mawimbi are proud to present their debut album Bubbling. Through their own label and events, the collective have championed up and coming artists who look to fuse african music with the modern dancefloor. They’ve released records from Lya, Onipa, Afriquoi and James Stewart and brought established artists and fellow travellers to such as Auntie Flo, Africaine 808, Awesome Tapes From Africa and Esa to Paris. Now it’s time for the collective to unveil their identity as producers and musicians in their own right.“Bubbling” refers to the many ideas, encounters and projects that the collective have come into contact with over the past years. Through their events and their work as label curators and remixers (for artists such as Oumou Sangaré, Blick Bassy, Cerrone, Onipa), Mawimbi have become known as ambassadors for “afro-electro” - whatever that might mean - and their debut album buzzes with the contagious energy of the music they love. If you ask Mawimbi, Afro-electro is about global and local inspiration, from both sides of the Black Atlantic. It’s about paying tribute to the forefathers and the brothers and sisters in arms across the world. Afrobeat, highlife, South African bubblegum pop, Malian music, maloya… Bubbling seeks to connect geographically separate but spiritually similar club sounds.Hence “El Caribe” (feat. Ghetto Kumbé) is half cumbia, half Carribean dancehall, while “Ngana” (feat. Fatim Kouyaté) has some elements of dub music and “Kakraa” (feat. K.O.G) nods to disco‐infused Ghanaian productions from the 70s. Despite the influences, this is a record designed for home-listening, a nod to our present circumstances, but also a deliberate step away from dancefloor. A moment of patience and reflection as much as joy and celebration.`Above all, Bubbling is a personal record, about unexpected cross-pollinations and the collective’s individual explorations of these musical territories. Mawimbi's own history is one of coincidences and chance encounters, and so is “Bubbling”. All the collaborations were born out of the connections made over the last 8 years. A WhatsApp chat with Zambian artist Mufrika, a spontaneous studio jam with Ghetto Kumbé in a Parisian Basement: these are captured moments of real, vital connections made.Like Mawimbi itself, Bubbling is a collage of relationships and shared experiences, shaped by nascent friendships and musical encounters. It’s a truly DIY document in that sense, the sound of the last eight years of the Mawimbi adventure: free spirited, passionate, warm and generous.
To celebrate 10 years of this great album INFRACom! is delighted to announce a limited pressing (ltd. editon 500 copies) of Mop Mop ́s third long player. For the first time on vinyl ! Back in 2010 INFRACom! could only release a CD version. For this vinyl release the original studio masters have been transferred to "reel tape" and received a special vinyl mastering for a great analog sound. The original artwork has been transferred to the vinyl version that comes in a gatefold sleeve. After the highly acclaimed "Kiss Of Kali" Mop Mop are back with Ritual Of The Savage, the third studio album, written, arranged and produced by Andrea Benini. Ritual Of The Savage contains twelve tracks of pure hypnotic Jazz, spiritual flavours, exotic Funk and Soul music influenced by Latin and African beats. Collaborations in the album include the amazing UK vocalist Miss Baby Sol (backing vocaling for the likes of Amy Winehouse, Joss Stone, Paloma Faith, Nate James), veteran Jazz crooner Alan Farrington, Down Beat critics poll winner Gianluca Petrella on trombone, the Italian vibraphone Star Pasquale Mirra, the Voodoo sound of Guglielmo Pagnozzi on clarinette and alto sax, percussionist Danilo Mineo and Andrea Benini's co-writer and arranger Alex Trebo on piano and keyboards. Ritual Of The Savage is an album with the philosophy of a soundtrack where the main character is a modern Savage who is searching for a perfect land where music is the only law. He starts his journey after "The Return Of The King", the album's opening track, going to an unknown "Destination" where Jazz meets Funk. Will the Savage be able to reach his goal? Nobody knows. But as the last album's track "Aria" suggests he will land in a space where everything is harmonious. The result is surely mindblowing with a flowing tracklist which sequels as if to tell a story. This album is made for the selective and open mainded music heads and dj's; vintage elements are mixed through a modern way of production and beats are generated by acoustic drums and analog drum machines. As Andrea Benini suggests on "Ritual Of The Savage"'s lyrics : "...Step back, burn all your money, give up to your power silks and chase real pleasure".
For years Porto has been considered a secret gem in Europe's cultural "underground".Hidden behind the cold granite stones that make our city a throbbing local scene eruptswithin jazz and all its many deviations. More than a showcase of this scene, Granito intendsto be a roadmap for what Porto is set to bring to table in the near future.
This disc closes the triptych of the two previous opuses. It's an imaginary road trip in accordance with the previous records, we find the usual groove with psychedelic flights while keeping those melancholic melodies dear to Lucien & The Kimono Orchestra.
