Parisian label Chuwanaga proudly presents the first opus of its new 12inch series, starting with the brand new EP of Koji Ono: Ricochet / Maloja Pass. Recorded during a short week-end in Paris, it is the result of a true collaboration by a team of musicians who wanted to bring a modern twist to a classic and timeless sound, staying true to the original late seventies/early eigthies dance music spirit and the passion of Chuwanaga for the original Britfunk.On bass, you’ll hear Lester Batchelor aka LB from Atmosfear, the legendary British Jazz-Funk band best known for their En Transe LP and the classic track « Dancing In Outerspace ». Killing it on the drums, Roy Mistry is their 2020 official drummer. Recording together in Studio Delta, with Koji playing almost all the other instruments, from keys to guitars to percussions, they all had a blast collaborating on these two new tracks. Add a blazing Rhodes solo by Jean-Michel Bernard on « Maloja Pass », some precious magic from producers Seiji Ono & Saint-James, a great dose of savoir-faire by sound engineer David Cukier aka Greita (Disques Flegon)… And you end up with two killer tunes ready to blast their way through your speakers. On both tracks, you’ll immediately recognize Koji Ono’s touch – as found on his previous Incognito EP : simple but uplifting melodies on synthetizers, sparkling guitars and a certain playfulness in the arrangements. On side A, « Ricochet » sounds like an irresistible mid-tempo boogie banger. On B side, the uptempo « Maloja Pass » is faster paced and bursts with energy, giving the listener an irresistible urge to travel endlessly through the night.

Tee Mac is a Nigerian multi-talented maestro flutist with cross-cultural Itsekiri and Swiss roots. He combined his first degree in Economics from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland, with a specialization in classical music concert performance and philharmonic compositions at University of Lausanne. During a rich career spanning over 40 years, Tee Mac formed numerous bands including Tee Mac & Afro Collection in the 1970s with notable Nigerian artists. He recorded his first LP, United, for Polydor International in Germany, with his European band, Tee Mac United, in the late 70s. And he then hit the global music charts with two songs, "Fly Robin Fly" and "Get Up & Boogie", touring extensively with his third band, Silver Convention.With the agreement of the artist we decided to select the best of his repertoire. The long awaited Tee Mac’s “Best Of“ is also a reality at last: juicy, hot, explosive and threatening to shatter all existing records. In order not to bore you with tell tales, let’s get into the heart of the album: We selected seven beautiful and rare tracks from his albums, Party Fever (1978), Mixed Grill (1979) and Night Illusion (1980). With top musicians individually displaying their skill and collectively delivering a classic repertoire. And we hope a bumper harvest for Tee Mac Omatshola Iseli within the next decade.

The creative process is about delivering the right energy once the music transmits the appropriate atmosphere.All songs are focus on having catchy hooks as much as conscious lyrics.Paris Show Some Love is a message album. Creating music in the city of love during one of the most violent year for a longtime…this contradiction has been the fuel to his creativity. The song « Paris Show Some Love » is specialy dedicated to the tragic night of november 13th 2015. **** DIZONORD DEADSTOCK ****Dizonord team discovered DJ Moppy’s Detroit’s label Animal Right Records back in 2016 on a Detroit Threads’ shelf. ARR-003 was previously released in 2018, a childish trip into the funk reminding both Moodymann and Talking Heads, yes ! A spaced out funky good time… Fart #1 - The A side is full of farts for the dancefloor.. Sure to have the whole place smelling of funk and get the bootys' moving… Fart #2 - The B Side brings a more laid back Farty Atmosphere with a nice groove to dance to. Paint A Picture are incredibly pleased to announce news of their first release: a fully remastered, licensed reissue of rediscovered British 7” Funny Situation recorded by Reflex - a band put together by drummer David Humphrey (Public Image Ltd., Sparks, Mike Oldfield) and privately released on his Star Records back in 1981. With the original record now changing hands for in excess of £200 and just in time for a 40th anniversary release the reissue - remastered and cut by Frank Merritt at The Carvery - will include updated original artwork whilst also containing an insert providing further details and context on the release.Recorded a few months after seminal Britfunk tune "Southern Freeez" at the very same Vine Yard Studios and with the same engineer Simon Sullivan - the release unfortunately suffered from a lack of marketing and proper distribution but almost forty years later the record is now receiving the attention it deserves and with a price tag to match. The A side presents a beautiful mesh of funk and soul styles with influence from other Britfunk bands of the time but with a more overt jazz and rock feel fusing a tight rhythm section with smooth vocals and climaxing in a guitar and saxophone duel.The instrumental Version Two provides a fresh approach with the addition of dub FX and Indian percussion with the use of a tabla added to the mix.

Voilaaa is one of the many projects led and produced by Bruno “Patchworks” Hovart, who’s proven over the past 15 years, his place amongst the finest producers of groove music in all genres.This time exploring the wide spectrum of the African and Tropical Disco scene, he received a massive international support for Voilaaa’s first album, On te l’avait dit, released late 2015 on Favorite Recordings.With a second effort already planned for spring 2017, Voilaaa has not finished to feed international dancefloors with heavy Afro-Disco vibes.Here comes the first single from Voilaaa’s upcoming second efforts, made of 3 new killer tunes featuring Lass, Sir Jean, and Pat Kalla.
