Third release for the young label Slow Bistro records, created by Slow-L in 2019. This is a brand new 2021 never released before 12” after two sold-out releases in 2019, we sold lots of these at french shop Dizonord and are happy to share the tip now. Italo disco & new wave inspired tracks rather than pure house, these are still fitted for the clubs. Great pictures from the French Japanese artist Maï Saikuza on rear and front sleeve.

Véronique Sanson is one of the most famous French pop oriented female singer, songwriter, and composer of the 80s. She began her career in the 70s, and was the girlfriend of genius composer Michel Berger. Her world turnt upside down when she met Stephen Stills of Crossby Stills & Nash. One Day, during a recording session in Paris, she left the studio pretending to go buy cigarettes, but never came back... She flew overnight to the USA, where she married Stephen Stills. In LA, she records new music with superstar composers such as Ray Parker JR and Harvey Mason. "Bernard's Song", produced in 1976, was the first single of the double gold album Hollywood.Funky French League is an intergenerational collective (based in Paris) formed by Young Pulse (Gamm) , Dabeull (Roche Musique), Arthur Chaps, Woody Braun (Malka Family), Mr Willy, DJ Asko et Uncle T (Groove Deluxe). All coming from different universe from hip-hop, to electronic music, but united by their love for the groove and the funk.

Elevate Melodies are back with four toe-tapping, finger-snapping, dancefloor slaying heaters, all on wax.Side 1 takes off with the Griffes’ remix of Jay Airness’ “She Staying”, all sumptuous keys, sun dappled strings and peak-time beats propelling the track ever forward. Venice Beach then takes on Sly Moore's seismic “Muoosic”, dropping the tempo and creating a super low-slung slab of electro funk, one for the 100bpm crew.On the B side, Lord Funk takes on “Black Les Grues De Nantes” from Victorius, turning it into a jazzy workout with slap-bass, chopped up vocals and dusty vinyl crackles giving it a classy 90s feel. And rounding out the selection is New York DJ and producer P-Sol who applies his midtempo skills to “Law and Theory” from label boss Jay Airness, creating an atmospheric groove with some real funk and jazz flourishes.

Technology for the Afterlife (aka Victor Groth) is an ambient/new age artist from Denmark, set to release his debut album Interpretations of Eternity on Cracki Records in the spring. The instrumental album explores the frontiers between faith and knowledge, consciousness and oblivion, past and future. It is about longing for a time when rationality and spirituality are not arch enemies, but one and the same. When there is neither science nor religion: Only mythology.

What do the letters stand for? Why the asterisk?” you ask. The origin of the asterisk has something to do with donating dates of birth on family trees, from back in the medieval times. In music, an asterisk denotes when a sustain pedal should be lifted. NY – New York? AK – Alaska? Is it something to do with the three stooges? Nyak nyak nyak… It leaves the mind thirsty for answers... In reality Andrew Scott, the man behind NY*AK; banged his computer keyboard in frustration one day – and out came NY*AK. If that’s taken the shine off it a little, we’re not worried. Listen to any of Andrews tracks and we guarantee you’ll be drawn straight back in, but this time – deeper.For the B Side, underground House producer Kool Vibe also delivers a brilliant rendition of “Gobblins Are Gone”. Producer & owner of KV Records (Paris), record collector since 1993, and definitely part of the new Deep House music scene that is emerging from France at the moment, Laurent, aka Kool Vibe, was born in Paris in 1970. Kool Vibe's music reflects the best of the 90s House Music sound that he manages to love so much. In 2011 and 2012, his first releases have been cult tracks out on “My Love Is Underground” and “Traxx Underground” imprints.“Must congratulate you. Never released before: on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the GRM, the composer François Bayle introduces us to some of his unpublished archives:"Electrucs !" (1974) composed on a 1970's Synthi AKS synthesizer like an imaginary soundtrack."Foliphonie" (1974) inspired by "La Grande Polyphonie"."Marpège" (1995) dedicated to Bernard Parmegiani.Also includes "Cinq dessins en rosace" (1973).Born in 1932 in Tamatave (Madagascar) where he lived for 14 years, François BAYLE is a major figure of electro acoustic music and member of the historic Pierre Schaeffer's "Groupe de Recherches Musicales" (GRM) joined in Paris in 1958. In 1975, the GRM was integrated with the new Institut national de l'audiovisuel (INA) with Bayle as its head, which post he held until 1997, he brought a valuable contribution to the opening of musical research in these original innovative institutions. Ever since his first productions (“L’expérience acoustique” 1971) François Bayle has developed through a great variety of formats and designed the Acousmonium a sound diffusion system used originally by the GRM.He also originated the record series Collection INA-GRM, organizes concerts and supports the development of technologically advanced musical instruments (Syter, Grm tools...). After leaving GRM in 1997, he founded his own electronic music studio and record label Magison.
